About the Practice: Bannockburn is a town situated approximately 25 km from Geelong on the Midland Highway (60km from Ballarat). It is a small rural town that has grown to service a wider rural region.
The practice is located in a newly-opened, purpose-built surgery with 5 consulting rooms and a 3 bed treatment room, with a full-time practice nurse. The surgery is fully computerized with internet access in each consulting room. The practice uses Medical Director script-writing software and receives pathology results via computer. We also have a computerized billing system.
The on-site equipment includes ECG machine, Spirometer, oxygen and resuscitation equipment. We perform excisions and do minor surgery. We are 15 minutes from Geelong via ambulance.
There is close access to psychologist, physiotherapy, dietitian, and massage therapy, and there is a pharmacy in the town. We also access diabetic educators and podiatry.
The practice is a training practice for GP Registrars in the Victorian Metropolitan Alliance Regional Training consortium. AMSN Points 1, RRMA Classification 5.
