Program summaryFormerly More Allied Health Services (MAHS) On 1 July 2008, the Office of Rural Health was created to drive rural health reform in response to the findings of the Audit of Health Workforce in Rural and Regional Australia. A review of targeted rural health programs resulted in the consolidation of four previously separate primary and allied health programs to form the Rural Primary Health Services (RPHS) program. The Aim of the RPHS program is to improve the health and wellbeing of people in rural and remote Australia, by providing supplementary allied health services based on identified health needs. The GP Association of Geelong provides Diabetes Education services to rural communities via participating General Practices that are classified as RA-2. These include General Practices throughout Bannockburn, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surfcoast Shire.
