Program summaryThe program aims to provide knowledge and skills to GPs that will be useful in General Practice, to provide GPs with an opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of staff and services in selected departments at Geelong Hospital and to improve communication between GPs and Geelong Hospital. Hospital familiarisation program(40 Category one points) This program offers GPs an opportunity to attend a clinical setting at Barwon Health, to work under supervision, in order to learn or update specific skills or areas of knowledge. GPs must attend for a minimum of 10 hours. GPs identify which area they would like to work in. There are a variety of clinical settings available Antenatal, Mental Health, Oncology, Familial cancer, HIV, Palliative Care, Hospital in the home, Infectious Diseases, Pain Management , Orthopaedic, Fracture clinic, Pathology, Paediatrics, Aged Care and Rehabilitation. Days of attendance are flexible. Please see attached checklist of activities for more information.
