We endeavour to provide patients with the best and most current treatments, methods, materials and equipment within our resource capabilities to ensure that the patients receive the high quality of service they have come to expect. Newcomb Central Medical Centre is a Bulk Billing Medical Centre, AGPAL accredited, fully computerized with 11 consulting rooms, 3 treatment rooms and a sterilizing room. We are located in Centro Newcomb Shopping Centre on Bellarine Highway with a range of shops including Safeway and Aldi Supermarkets, Chemist, Pathology, travel agent, retail shops etc.Geelong Public Hospital is a few minutes away as well as having Geelong Private Hospital and St John of God Private Hospital. Nurses assist with minor procedures, injections, dressings, care plans, plastering and ECG’s to enable doctors to continue seeing patients. We have a Mental Health Nurse Specialist , a Physiotherapist, a Podiatrist and are looking for a Diabetes Educator to compliment the range of Services provided. There is a professional yet family atmosphere with staff and doctors which also promotes a friendly, caring and relaxed environment for our patients. Newcomb Central Medical Centre has the following staff • 3 full time GP’s with 5 part-time GP’s • 1 Practice Manager • 1 Assistant Practice Manager • 4 Nurses • 2 Receptionists • Mental Health Nurse Specialist • Consulting Pediatrician Professor Paddy Dewan (Bulk Bills) • Physiotherapist • Podiatrist Appointments Newcomb Central Medical Centre has a ‘walk-in’ system which suits our location and a bulk billing environment. Staff will inform patients of approximate waiting times. Patients may leave the premises if there is a waiting time to do shopping or other tasks. Every effort will be made by doctors and staff to meet appointed times however emergencies will always be given priority. General Practitioners: Dr Tony Bothroyd, Dr Robert Hopkins, Dr Muhammad Asif, Dr Jennifer Deacon, Dr Mun Yoong,Dr Preeti Jane, Dr Ayhan Ada, Dr Ali Al-Hadi, Dr Luke Khongmen, Dr John Kapthuama. Locum: Dr Colin Urquhart Nathan Wilson (physiotherapist) Stephanie Jokuszies (Podiatrist) Lemmie (Mental Health Nurse Specialist) Visiting Specialist: Professor Paddy Dewan Services Provided: Newcomb Central Medical Centre delivers the following services: •Consultations to patients •Childhood Immunizations – adult and travel vaccinations •Care Plans (Diabetic, mental , physiotherapy, podiatrist, asthma, 4 year old health checks, 75+ Health Check etc assisted by nurses) •Special Interest – lesion removal ( minor skin cancers) • Suturing – minor cuts etc • Plastering for minor/general fractures • Liquid nitrogen freezing therapy for sun spots and warts • Skin checks • Pregnancy tests • Pap smears • ECG & BCL (by nurse) • Dressings (by nurse) Open Hours: Monday to Friday: 8.30 – 6pm After hours services: Saturday: 9.00 to 3pm Sunday: 9.00 to 3pm Practice Manager: Adrianna Costa |
