Program summary

The division provides further assistance to International Medical Gruaduates (IMGs) with advice and support in the following:

• Analysis of CV to determine pathway to General Practice
• Location of suitable practice vacancies
• Immigration matters
• Access to provider numbers
• Medical Registration
• Locating suitable accommodation
• Facilitating a smooth and pleasant arrival

The Workforce Officer can link IMGs with the organisations they need to contact in order to be able to work in Australia. One of the organisations that IMGs may work with is the Rural Workforce Agency of Victoria (RWAV). RWAV is a State based organisation that is working to fill the GP shortages in rural Victoria by administering the following programs:

The Rural Locum Relief Program (RLRP),

The Victorian OTD Rural Recruitment Scheme (VORRS)
